In collaboration with the energy group E.ON, we optimized the IT project management systems. The goal was to unify delivery processes across organizations and increase transparency in projects and capacity. Thanks to improvements in processes and tools, task planning and prioritization are now standardized and clear. Communication between the business and IT departments has also improved.
Constant pressure from demands
The IT department faced an overwhelming number of uncoordinated requests with poorly defined priorities. This constant influx of tasks from various directions kept the department under constant pressure, preventing it from effectively allocating its capacity.
The main task was to create a system that would enable efficient capacity allocation and easy task prioritization. The goal was to replace the unclear and ineffective planning in Excel, which lacked the necessary flexibility, interactivity, and change tracking.
Tailored tool adjustments
In this case, the ideal choice was Atlassian’s Jira Software, which we supplemented with the Structure and StructureGantt modules for advanced roadmaps and project planning. These tools provided sufficient flexibility and adaptability for E.ON’s needs.
Adjustments in Tempo Timesheets simplified and improved work reporting and resource allocation, even with very detailed tracking of capitalization items.
